Running mastercomfig takes a lot of time, effort and money. If you appreciate any of my work, please consider supporting me!
mastercomfig has received 8% ($127.22) of its funding needs for 2026. We are projected to reach 37% ($544.64) by the end of the year if current funding levels continue.
Monthly Costs
I have provided the following information for full transparency of the monthly costs of running mastercomfig. I rely on support from the community to be able to afford to keep the website and services online.
Total cost per month: $121.60. This amounts to $1,459.20 per year.
- CloudFlare: $25/month - Provides hosting for web services, security and DDoS protection
- Google Cloud Storage: $1/month - Provides cloud storage for web assets, like hitsounds
- Sentry: $41/month - Provides error tracking, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and other logs to help us improve the web services and Team Comtress 2
- Dedicated servers: $38.40/month - Provides hosting for Team Comtress 2 game servers
- VPS: $14.20/month - Provides hosting for mastercomfig web services like quickplay and Discord bots used for community features and service notifications / syncing
- Domain: $6/month - Provides domain names (comfig.app, mastercomfig.com, teamcomtress.com, quickplay.tf) for comfig app and other sites
- Ko-Fi Gold: $6/month - Used to accept payments from the community
We also have some other costs which are considered optional. If there is not enough support to keep the project funds healthy, we cancel these services to stabilize costs. These optional costs total $75.50 per month, or $906 per year.
- Discord Server Boosts: $31/month - Used for the comfig Discord server, to provide users with a higher upload limit for sharing during help requests, and for the Discord vanity link to help with discoverability
- Double Counter Pro: $8.50/month - Used to enhance security against bots and scams for the comfig Discord server
- Dyno Premium: $6/month - Used for moderation features in the comfig Discord server, and help with tech support
- Google Cloud Compute: $30/month - Used to host 100 player and other TF2 server events for the community and for testing new performance features. Previously, these experiments led to the development of features to help power all 100 player servers, including shounic's trenches, enabling servers to provide a much better gameplay experience.
And of course, this says nothing of the time I spend on all the projects and maintaining them, but I love what I do and I am very grateful when I can even break even on this.
